March Luxe Box by Loosebutton

Luxe Box by Loosebutton is another beauty subscription service in Canada.  For $12 a month, you receive 4-5 deluxe sized samples.  Some of the samples have been full size!  I've gotten hair care, makeup, perfume, and body products.  They also try to customize the box to each individual depending on a quiz that you take when you sign up.  Loosebutton currently only ships in Canada.  However, there is a sign up sheet to get a notification once Luxe Box is available in your country if you are outside Canada.

The March box is my 5th Luxe Box.

March 2012 contents

Now on to the review of the individual products!

Cargo Glitter Top Coat - This product was available through Luxe Box's First in Line program.  The program lets you reserve a product so that you will receive it in your next Luxe Box.  I didn't opt in this month's First in Line program because I wanted to keep the contents of my box a surprise.  The Glitter Top Coat comes in a pretty small tube for a full size product.  At first glance, I thought it was a deluxe sized sample but the description card proved me wrong.  You can use the top coat alone or over your favourite eyeliner.  When I swatched it, the base of the top coat is transparent but there are multi-coloured glitter spaced throughout.  The top coat did not feel sticky once it dried.

CHI Silk Infusion - According to Luxe Box, it is a leave in reconstructing treatment and it protects your hair from heat and environmental damages.  However, on the packaging it says that the product is for hair and skin.  I probably won't be putting this on my skin because I do have dry and sensitive skin.

Cargo Lip Gloss in Fresno - The lip gloss is a warm pink in colour which leans towards being coral.  When I  used this, it gave my lips a high shine and evened out my lips for a my lips but better (MLBB) look.  The formula is a little bit sticky but not too much so the stickiness didn't bug me at all.  The lip gloss lasted me about 3 hours before I had to re-apply.  It has a floral (maybe lavender?) smell but it isn't overpowering.  As with the glitter top coat, I thought the lip gloss was a deluxe sized sample but it is in fact a full sized product.

MyScent package - I received three different perfume samples in this month's MyScent program.  I'm kind of tired receiving perfume samples.  I only use perfume when I go out or if it's a special occasion.  Also, the Rihanna Rebelle sample was so tiny.  It was half the size of the other two perfume samples.

Bonus: seed paper - The Loosebutton team has given each subscriber a card that states it is their 1 year anniversary.  The great thing about the card is that you can plant it and it'll grow some flowers.  I haven't had the chance to plant this yet but I will definitely blog about it as soon as possible.

Bottom line: Compared to my March Glossybox, the March Luxe Box is a little underwhelming and, especially, for a 1 year anniversary box.  However, I did receive two full size products!  Because of the full size products, the March Luxe Box is Makeup Critic approved (but just barely).
