Revlon - Sheer Seafoam Nail Polish

For my nail of the week, I chose Revlon's Sheer Seafoam.  It's a limited edition nail polish by Gucci Westman for Revlon in the Spring/Summer 2012 Escapism Collection.

I would describe the colour in the bottle to be a muted cloudy teal.  However, on the nail, it's a whole different story.

Swatch of Revlon Sheer Seafoam

Sheer Seafoam lives up to it's name.  It is very, very sheer.  The above picture has four layers to achieve this opacity.  You can still see a visible nail line.  I don't think you can achieve full opacity with this nail polish unless you want to have at least 8 to 10 layers.

Sheer Seafoam has a jelly finish.  I found the formula to be very watery when applying.  Make sure to brush away excess before applying or you could be applying to much on your nail at one time.  Also, I think I should have waited longer in between coats.  After a while, I saw a lot of bubbling on all of my nails.  You might want to wait a minute in between coats.

Bottom line: Revlon Sheer Seafoam is not Makeup Critic recommended.  It's just to sheer.  It's too bad, I really like the colour in the bottle rather than on the nail.

  1. Hi, thanks for this review! It looks so pretty in the bottle but very disappointing on the nails :(

Best of luck on your new blog! I'm about to start a beauty blog as well...as soon as I finish my degree (last class! two weeks left!). I'm nervous but excited and ready :)

    1. Thanks Kat! Yeah, I really agree with you. I bought it for the colour and am very disappointed on how sheer it was. I bought another nail polish from the same collection so I hope that won't turn out as sheer. I'll post that review soon!

Good luck with the degree! I just have one more paper and I'm done my degree too! =D

    1. Yes, it's such a shame the colour in the bottle looks so good.

  4. If you've ever wanted to do a glitter sandwich with CG Refresh Mint or For Audrey or something like that, this color would be great to use as the "top coat". :)
